Right-Sized Compliance Support: Meeting the Needs of Both Emerging Biotech and Global Pharma
Published by Eunomia Pharma Services · Updated
How can a biotech company outsource compliance without losing oversight?
A biotech can outsource defined compliance activities, such as material review, HCP engagement administration or disclosure preparation, while retaining a named internal owner and clear decision rights. Start with the activities and markets you actually operate in, agree the provider’s scope, and establish approval, escalation and reporting arrangements. The service should fit the company’s risks and stage of development.
What to agree before outsourcing
- Define the work: list markets, activities, expected volumes, exclusions and the evidence each completed task must produce.
- Name the owners: record who prepares, reviews, approves and escalates each activity, including decisions retained by the company.
- Test the handover: walk through a representative engagement or material from request to approval and record any gaps.
- Monitor delivery: agree turnaround measures, quality checks, exceptions reporting and a route for changing scope as the business grows.
